How To Overcome Feeling Worthless and No Good: a coaching devotional John 1:46

John 1:46 NASB
46 Nathanael said to him, “Can anything good be from Nazareth?”
Philip *said to him, “Come and see.”

No matter where you come from, no matter what you've done, no matter what others have said, good can and will come from you who believes in Christ Jesus.

It's common in our broken world to receive messages that we aren't good enough because of where we've come from or whatever else the enemy tells us we lack-- like education, etc. But God's ways are not the world's ways. And He uses those that are willing no matter who they are or where they've come from.

One of the many things I love about Jesus is that He broke so many pre-conceived human notions of who the Messiah was to be. The people around Jesus constantly questioned Him about where He came from and what He was doing all the while telling HIM what to do!

My friends let's not be surprised when we are called. Let's not be surprised that others question us, our God-inspired ideas, our abilities, where we've come from, ect.

Let's choose not to be shaken by other people's opinions of where we are from, what we are called to do, and who God is transforming us into. Your past does NOT dictate your future--God always is looking to do a new thing in your life and through you.

Let's choose to cultivate a deep, dynamic relationship with God and His holy scripture so that our identity and actions stay firmly within accordance of God's word and will.

Let's choose to rebuke and tell the enemy to get behind us! We will be persecuted for His namesake and the calling He has placed in our lives. Therefor, we must be ready to speak scripture and cause the enemy to flee in seven different directions away from us.

Let's choose to embrace the high-calling with bold trust in Him. We are the complex identity and kingdom agenda that God is working on day by day.

Let's pray: Dear God, thank You for this day. Thank You for Your love and mercy.

We love You, Jesus and praise You for Your sacrifice that allows us to enter the kingdom and will of God.

Thank You Lord that Your ways are higher than our ways and Your thoughts are not our thoughts. We are in awe of the way You choose to us to be a part of Your glory and will.

Jesus please help us not to care what others think of us. Please help us to rebuke thoughts of being inferior or not good enough.

You have chosen us before time began. You've gifted us, set us apart, and assigned us great works to do. It's our active worship to do all that You want us to do.

Please help us Lord to put our hand to the plow and not look back. We want to keep our eyes fixed on You Jesus as we daily walk out our calling.

Please surround us with hedges of protection, gird us with strength, help us to endure, persevere, and shine Your light in such a way that others see and glorify You.

We sing praises to Your name, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, Amen.
