What is your definition of success?
The world's definition of success is mixed with some good and a whole lot of lies. Success the world's way is often selfish, manipulative, underhanded, and scheming.
The enemy loves to take what is good and twist it just enough to warp things into a path that leads to chaos, destruction, and pain.
God never said money was evil. God never said fame was evil. God never said being a leader was evil.
God wants His people to lead. He wants His people to bring Him glory--for He is worthy of all glory and praise. He wants His people blessed and highly favored by all people.
How do we combine the desires of our heart with His will and way (Psalm 37:4 Delight yourself in the Lord; And He will give you the desires of your heart.)?
We first must know God's way and choose to follow it even when we are enticed by the trappings of the world and the deceit of the enemy and contrary words of well meaning friends.
In the book of Numbers, Balak asks Balaam of Midian, to curse God's people. Balaam inquired of God, learns that they are a blessed people, and hears God tell him not to go to Balak.
However, Balaam chooses to keep entertaining the idea and considering it and then going--contrary to what God wanted. Yet, God used His stubbornness to further bring Himself glory in the sight of Balak and his people, AND bless the Israelite's!
Numbers 22:32 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
32 Then the angel of the Lord said to him, “Why have you struck your donkey these three times? Behold, I have come out as an adversary, because your way was reckless and contrary to me."
Let's choose to read God's word, know God's word, learn His will, AND follow it without constant questioning and manipulation to craft our desires.
May none of us allow ourselves to become contrary to God's will!

Lord please bring us into Your word and help us to absorb the message You have for us today. Please protect us from the warped way of the enemy and bring us an understanding of how to stay firmly walking on the aligned path that You want us on.
We never want to be contrary to Your will. Please help us to choose to listen to You each morning and daily walk out Your will.
We thank You for Your word is a lamp unto our feet that keeps us fixed in the right path. We long to bring You glory and to show others that Your way is the truth and the life everlasting.
Thank You Jesus for being our Good Shepherd that watches over us, Your flock, and brings us along from pasture to pasture--each season of our lives is in Your hands.
We sing praises to Your name, now and forever, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, Amen and Amen!
