I had to block her. I had to delete her messages and process the feelings that lingered yesterday.
It was a sales pitch/push that was selfish and self-focused. It was messages that left me feeling disrespected and unheard.
Yesterday, someone popped up in my messages and started asking leading questions. My answers were kind and direct--I didn't need her services and blessed her journey. But she was obviously trained poorly (or rather didn't have sales training) to never take "No, thank you." for an answer and to keep pushing--yuck!
Instead of being open to a relationship, open to exploring collaboration or connection, or who knows what we could have creatively come up with, she ended up being blocked and the scenario I used in my sales training video today of: what not to do.
I love sales now. I used to not love it at all. I didn't understand what sales truly could be. I've only experienced ONE really healthy sales conversation (thank you Ryann Dowdy) prior to going into one of the best sales coaching programs--again thank you to Ryann.
A sales conversation CAN and SHOULD be healthy, fun, interesting, open, relationship nurturing/building, HELPFUL, serving, connecting, etc.
My friends, stop shying away from the word sales or learning about it. Stop thinking sales/selling is always bad. EVERYONE needs to understand what sales IS and what it never should be.
Sales is serving.
Sales is listening.
Sales is holding space for people.
Sales is being open to a long-term relationship that may NEVER become a money exchange.
Sales is ASKING aka getting CONSENT before sharing your programs or group or calendar link.
Sales is being open and accepting of a "No thank you." AND continuing to serve/support that person for years to come.
One of my passions and missions is to ensure that every single woman entrepreneur knows How To Sell from a place of integrity and genuine relationship building--because that builds thriving businesses, relationships, communities, and changes so much.
Message me if you want to learn to sell and build a thriving business from a place of integrity and relationship. Because a business built on that solid foundation can and WILL last.
