How do you make decisions?
I've been working to transform my impetuous tendencies for the last few years. It's not easy to retrain the brain to weigh carefully and to be patient in seeking God and His answers.
One thing I do know--when I make choices and decisions from a place other than peace, which is typically a place of fear, I'm bound to create something out of alignment with God and His will. And that, my friends, creates consequences I never like bearing through.
Most Christians don't realize that God's peace already dwells within them. There's no need to ask God for peace--it's already there waiting for us to tap into it (John 14:27).
We must learn to tap into it and LET God work in us--submit to His transformation and change. We must sensitize our hearts and minds to God's word and Holy Spirit which starts with daily reading of His word--to know His voice.
Let's choose today to intentionally release our worry over the outcomes of our choices which is a part of rebuking the fear that hinders us from hearing and doing what God wants. Then ask God for His will and good counsel (Job 12:13) while listening with a heart and mind of bold courage and obedience (Ephesians 3:12, 1 Samuel 15:22).
Let's pray: Dear God, Creator of heaven and earth, we come boldly to the throne room of grace to ask for forgiveness and Your good counsel.
Lord we know that fear hinders our walk with You. We know that You delight in faithful obedience. Please help us to sensitize our hearts and minds to hear Your voice.
Please Jesus lead us to imprint Your Holy word upon our hearts and minds so that we can create a confident and courageous mind that is obedient to You.
Thank You for being our Good Shepherd who watches over us and protects us from the adversary. Please bring forth an abundance of protection and blessings as we seek Your will and faithfully walk out what we believe Your will and way is.
