How To Avoid Hardship Devotional: Proverbs 3:11-12

Natural consequences, broken world, disobedience to the truth, and so forth....

Sometimes it can be hard to determine our role in the hardships we face. Most often we don't want to face our role in the creation of our difficulties and sometimes we have so much baggage and brokenness that we can hardly see the truth of how our circumstances came about.

This world and life is to grow in knowledge of God and our part in His Kingdom agenda. Our life in not just our own. We are all interconnected and the vast majority of people have broken mindsets, toxic coping habits, passive aggressive communication skills, and so on.

The life we are living is a web of action and reaction. What one person says and does bouncing into and out of our lives changing the path of our thoughts, actions, and perspectives.

Have you ever sat and wrote out the web of who and what is effecting your life?

It's a fascinating insightful exercise. The more insight we have into our thoughts, behaviors, and the behaviors of others the more power we have to CHOOSE how we craft our responses and actions which create our every life circumstances.

Let's choose to read God's word so our eyes are open to the truth of where our behavior and actions are the source of our pain and discord.

Let's choose to ask God to open our eyes to how we are out of alignment with His will, word, and way.

Let's choose to pause before speaking, pause before acting, and choose to act and speak from a place of empowered insight.

Let's pray: Dear God, we come to You with praise. We thank You that You created us to be in a deep dynamic relationship with You. We thank You that You are always working in us to grow us and open us to a mature understanding of You, life, and our purpose and calling here.

Lord please forgive us where we have closed our eyes to our own actions that are not in alignment with Your will and way. Please help us to cultivate courage to face where we are responsible for our own problems and where we are allowing others into unhealthy relationships and actions with us.

Please help us to cultivate healthy boundaries, a healthy understanding of our self-worth, and confident, bold, courage to stand firm for what is right and good for our lives and the lives of those around us.

We thank You Jesus for being our Good Shepherd that watches over us every day. Please surround us with Your love, light, protection, mercy, and strength to grow into all of the healthy habits, actions, reactions, and words that You want for us.

We sing praises to Your name, now and forever, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, Amen!
