Why is it that Christian women have a hard time with sales and direct outreach?
I have my opinions, share yours below.
One thing I know is that you can't serve people who don't know you exist and don't know how you can help them. So where does that leave you and me?
There are a lot of strategies in the online space--dancing around on reels, content for years, run expensive ads while still not getting clients, or time-tested sales skills--connecting human to human. I'll share that all of my clients over the last 3 years have come from some form of human to human connection. Answers: #socialselling #relationshipmarketing #directoutreach #networking #referrals
I spent thousands on ads in my first year of business only to net zero clients.
I've danced on reels only to have men from other countries like them and a few of my followers--again zero clients or new ideal client followers. Frankly, I had to block dozens of followers that were shady and not at all my ideal client. I have low numbers on my IG profile because I REFUSE to keep people on my followers that are not my ideal client--whereas I see "big gurus" with high numbers and what looks like few ideal clients!
My friend sales is an empowering and servant centered process and we need to see it from that perspective. We need to choose to build our businesses from a desire to serve, listen, link arms, empower, help, and ultimately to build relationships!
Let's choose to go out and connect from a sincere place of wanting to know someone, hold space for them, and ask before sending links, pitches, or deep questions that truly are only reserved for people we know, like, and trust. We always ask/gain consent before pitching!
Let's choose to seek out people to connect with from a place of Christ-inspired focus--we are His hands and feet. We are here to encourage others into their God-given gifts, calling, and kingdom impact. Therefor, get to know them, pray with them, ask permission to share about yourself AFTER you hear about them, or read about them, or comment on their posts.
Send messages that start with: Hi (name). I see that you are ______. I see that you are passionate about _____. I think it's awesome that you ______. I'm reaching out because ______. Would you be interesting in hearing more about _____?
That's how you do cold outreach. Learn, listen, connect, serve, empower, and maintain the relationship no matter if they respond, say "no", etc.
