I had a great question today about #BiblicalVisionBoards and what are they....
A Biblical vision board has the dreams and goals that you have from God through your prayer time. As we talk with God in the morning flashes of ideas blossom in our minds. Goals and dreams that make us bubble up with excitement fly through our minds and are often dismissed by our ingrained #mindsets like past failures and fears that drain our determination to try and achieve all God calls us too.
We need to cultivate excitement to walk by faith. Those goals and dreams are what we need to put up on a cork board or in my case my entire bathroom wall 😍.
Sometimes God prompts us to make a change in our life that we know will produce positive life changes but make us feel afraid. We know that that goal will take perseverance, self-discipline, and stamina. God said do not be afraid but go to battle with the Lord (see Deuteronomy 1:30 and 31:8).
Those goals need even more stamina and courage--you need to see them daily to remind yourself why they matter and why you must daily work toward them.
Most people give up on their goals within a few weeks. God's word says to keep the vision before your eyes, to put your hand to the plow and not look back, to not turn to the left or right but to stay on the path He has for you. (see Habakuk 2:2, Luke 9:62, 2 Chronicles 34:2)
With out a Biblical vision board we lose track of what we are trying to accomplish. We forget that God is with us--just like the Israelites sometimes wondered if God was really working things for their good (Joshua 10:25, Jeremiah 1:19)
When we can see our dreams and see God's word all around it then we can persevere the way God's word says. We can pray the scripture we put by our goals, sub-goals, and be encouraged and renewed in our mind (see Romans 12:2).
