Who loves chalk? hands 💁♀️
I love the ability to send my child out to play with a bucket of chalk and watch her create large pictures, stories, ect.
As soon as the rain comes the words and drawings are washed away, no sign that anything was ever there and we all quickly forget what was written.
Oh, if our memories would be like that! Instead, we hang on to our past sins, mistakes, and regrets so that we can replay them, fuss at ourselves over them, and quickly turn our happy emotions into a rolling boil of guilt, shame, condemnation, and depression.
But, God says the slate is wiped clean--that chalk writing is gone--He remembers it no more! Then why are we reminding ourselves and God about it?
I know how hard it is to move past memories that steal my breath away and crush my once happy day.
I know the enemy chooses at just the right mind to zing our past sin into our face and watch our smile crumble.
But, God delights in us, God empowers us by the Holy Spirit to choose today to say thank you to the enemy for reminding us how good Abba Father Jesus Christ is.
Let's take those crushing memories and speak at them that the slate is washed clean--that Father God calls us beloved, redeemed, and set free to create a new future of lasting blessings, and treasures that await us in heaven. *If you want help on this journey then let's talk.
Let's pray: Dear God Almighty, thank You Lord for loving us and saving us. Thank You Jesus that You washed the slate clean--we are no longer imprinted with sin.
Holy Spirit please help us to banish the thoughts and mindsets that hold us back from walking boldly into our blessings and future.
Please Lord imprint Your truth, Your Holy word upon our hearts and minds so that we can recall Your words when the enemy tries to recall our past sin.
