The short testimony I gave before my immersion baptism a few years ago. It's fun to have FB memories pop up.
I have been a Christ follower since I was 13. However, the church I grew up in did not have immersion baptism--I was confirmed in the episcopal church. 2 years ago when we chose to become partners at our church now I had our pastor perform the immersion baptism for me. It was a beautiful and wonderful event that I treasured. I loved that my children were able to witness it. I love that last year our eldest was baptized and this year our middle son will be baptized. Our daughter would like to be immersed too, however, I choose that my children must wait until they are almost/at least 13 years old. I do not mean that all parents must choose this. I know that baptism is an OUTWARD sign of an inward transformation. However, for us we feel that our children must be at a critical age of thinking and action. We want them not to be pulled along by friends or family. We want them to be intentional with their choice of Christ and their choice to show that decision to others at the right time.
