The world of Christianity has a long history of focusing on one aspect of God to the detriment of working to understand the complex awesomeness of our Creator.
Some churches focus on the judging aspect of God which leads to an unhealthy relationship with our Abba Father.
Some focus on the loving, blessing nature of God and never speak that people will be judged (Matthew 12:18, 2 Corinthians 5:10, 2 Timothy 4:1, 1 Peter 1:17, Revelation 14:7). That also leads to a lopsided view of God that doesn't build a reverent awe of God that spurs us on to grow spiritually.
When we choose not to delve into the word and grow in spiritual maturity we miss the ability to grapple with the awesome complex nature of our God.
We can miss that not only does God love us with His whole being but that He expects for us to serve with humble awe. We must know that our lives here impact the Kingdom agenda of God and the judgement of our life story in the world to come:
1 Peter 1:17 And remember that your heavenly Father to whom you pray has no favorites when he judges. He will judge you with perfect justice for everything you do; so act in reverent fear of him from now on until you get to heaven.
Let's choose today to grow in knowledge, deed, and word of our awesome God.
Let's choose to talk about all the amazing characteristics of our God--He is loving, forgiving, and a consuming fire that judges our choices in this life.
Let's choose to share that salvation and transformation come from God The Son Jesus Christ who expects us to transform our lives day by day to be imitators of Him who died for all people, loving and serving all those around us.
Let's pray: Dear Lord God Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, thank You for creating in us a spirit that can come into relationship with You.
Lord Jesus help us this day to get a sense of our Abba Father in a new and wondrous way.
Help us to transform our mindsets, words, and deeds to be in alignment with Your will and Your word.
Create in us a right spirit that keeps a sense of urgency to create lives worthy of the High calling in You.
Please help us be Your hands, feet, and mouth to bring an end to hatred, racism, brokenness, selfishness, and marginalization of any people.
Please help our nation heal and transform to be all that You want it to be.
