In one of my blog posts about racism, I explained that I felt like I was shouting into a void and no one was listening.
I wonder if God feels like He has spoken to us so much on love, mercy, and salvation but the void of our pride continues to block our listening ears.
It's a beautiful Sunday in 2020 and we are in a place where hearts and minds need to listen.
Each of us, including myself, need to listen to the word of God this morning with "listening ears" and a humbled spirit.
Let's pray: Dear Lord God thank You that Your Holy word is the first and final word on how You want us to treat one another and to receive salvation through You Lord Jesus.
Lord please help us to humble ourselves, put on listening ears, and hands, feet, and mouth to act in accordance with Your will and Your way.
Lord please don't let this moment of hardship be for nothing. Please cause this nation to rise up and create systemic anti-racism policies, procedures, and mindsets.
We pray for an end to hatred, pride, and selfishness.
Help us Lord to create ripples of change by shining Your light in such a way that others see our good works, hear our words, and glorify You.
In Jesus name, we pray, Amen.
