Today's verses: alone. Alone in the midst of a crowded room. Have you experienced feelings of being alone in your hurts or challenges?
Christ was alone in the midst of a crowd calling for His execution after being tortured to near death and forsaken by all His friends. I know this is going to sound awful--but I am so glad my Savior knows hurt even more than I do. I know that sounds so selfish and awful. I do wish that Christ did not need to bear my sins to sanctify me and be the bridge that allows me to enter the Kingdom of God. And I am so very thankful to my Lord and Savior. But, when my heart aches and my challenges weight so heavy upon me--knowing that Christ knows even more acutely than I do brings me so much comfort. It doesn't stop all the hurt or heaviness but I don't feel as alone. I can dwell on His presence. I can drink in His word to restore the broken pieces. I can feed on faith by steeping my mind on His word and deeds. I can build my hope with time in prayer and proclaiming His word outloud with my mouth.
Lord Almighty God, we come before You with thanks and praise for You alone are worthy of all praise, honor, and glory. Lord Jesus Christ, we praise You for Your sacrifice and Your Holy word that restores our hearts and souls. Lord Jesus thank You for knowing so intimately every human experience most especially the ones of hurt, loneliness, pain, and suffering. Help us Lord to always remember we are not alone and that You walk this broken world with us--never leaving us nor forsaking us, even when we falter in our faith. Lord Jesus, You are ever faithful. We sing Holy, Holy, Holy are You Lord God Almighty. Help us now in our areas of trial and challenge to grow and mature, please. In Your name Jesus we pray, Amen and Amen!
